1 Month Anniversary

Yes, it's already been a month! Lea Ann is headed to the Mayo-Clinic in Rochester, MN May12, hoping to determine if any other factors caused her stroke besides the genetic mutation of the factor V,to see if the coumadin will be a lifetime treatment, and what their take is on the epilepsy issue--does she have it or are they convinced the seizures were truly just induced by the stroke. She's been trying to get back to normal life-- walking Jake to work, grocery shopping, paying bills, and some other light domestic duties.
Lea Ann says, "I do have to give Mom mad props for keeping my house clean and fresh socks to put on every morning... She's a God send. Jake is getting back into the swing of thing at work and learning some minimal kitchen skills from the both of us. By the time Mom goes home, Jake is gonna be well trained. Jake and I even had a date night and attented our first Peoria Chiefs minor league baseball game. They lost, but we didn't take it personally. I think the 'person' most happy to see me home is Macey (the cat). Physical Therapy is proving to be an extreme challenge, although a welcome one. Working on strengthing my core, ankle, and hips, as well as continually working on balance. As far as my right hand... it's coming along slowly, but surely. The grip is good but the coordination is lacking. Translation: I write like a second grader. I start Occupational Therapy Friday to focus on that."
Please keep posting your comments on the blog for Lea Ann. She appreciates it so much.

Brian says they are using Wii's for PT these days, so maybe I can write mine off as a tax deduction since I'm bringing it down to you...but then you'd have to be my dependent and Jake prolly needs the deduction worse than me, so forget it. Even Mom will love playing it--it has a tennis game and I've been practicing--much mo better on the Wii than on the court! Little Man says, "bbbbppp", which is him blowing spit bubbles---awesome.

Lea Ann I was so glad to see a cheerful smile as you make progress in recovering. I am an old family friend on Jake's side and his Dad Larry gave us your blog. We will add you to our prayer list here in Washington state, so know you are being lifted up throughout our country.
My husband Jeff will be contacting Jake soon to encourage you both and catch up. Lean on your COW's Heb. 12:1 (cloud of witnesses)

hmmmm.... May 12th.... you are going to REALLY make Em feel like you want to see her as that was right around when she was going to be coming through your area. She come's through, you head to Minnesota :O -- Feel that Love!! ha Really though, we're SO glad that you are going to get to the bottom of this. Keep cracking that whip over the hubby. Training them is tough, but don't let up! When they get old they get set in their ways so it is better to do it RIGHT from the start! Love Diane & fam

OK, I've been out of the loop for a few days but it looks like you're getting along pretty well without my pearls of wisdom (pigs have pearls, too).
Jane took me shopping this weekend and forced me to buy a bunch of clothes...she won't be able to keep her hands off this sharp dressed man now...I know you didn't want to hear that but you'll have to take the good with the bad.
Glad to hear Jake is teaching Deb how to cook (Ramon noodles anyone?) so thankfully there is still mac and cheese to fall back on.
Nice to see you smiling...keep it up. Later...I think I hear the phone ringing...probably your dad trying to sell some tires...
Love, Jim and Jane (the boss)
