Progress

Since Lea Ann's life revolves around PT and OT, thought we'd share some pics of her in action. She's focusing on strengthening her quads, core, and just building her endurance. As you can see she's doing alot of work with resistances bands, balance, and actually jumping! The pics don't do her justice. She's so close to dunking again, it's not funny! She finally started OT this week, focusing on building shoulder strength and working her fingers individually. Coordination and strength in her right hand will be the last things to regain full function. Although she continues to do as many of her daily tasks as possible with her right hand, the fingers still work in unison and have some curl to them. Her therapy has moved to an actual gym for curcuit training and she is continually encouraged to be active as much as possible without overtiring herself. She has some added inspiration this week, as Nikki and Jack are in town for a visit. They all are soaking up the beautiful Peoria weather and have even made it to the tennis courts to hit some balls around. Enjoy the pics!

Showed the new post to the boys and Ryan says, "Bootiful!" and Bryce says, "She's better!" - So it's obvious even to the boys that you're looking pretty much like the "Aunt Lann" they know! Keep it up! Maybe we'll hook up the webcam and give you all a call this week! Take care! ~Laura

Lea Ann, Jake was in my youth group when I was serving in Rich Hill. You and I have never met, but I certaily am praying for you way out here in Washington state! May you be healed fully and recover quickly. I'm praying for you and your whole family.
If Jake or you would like to communicate at some point, my email is jeffreydadams@hotmail.com, I'm also at paramountchristian.org and can be found on MySpace and Facebook under a very old screenname "guncarr" or just search my name in Lacey, WA. Take care and stay close to Christ. It's a safe and comfortable place to be.

I'm happy to see you are still improving - it seems rapid to me, but probably not to you. It is good to see you are up to the challenge, so keep it up!

hey girl -- looking good!! We were trying to decide who was playing with those toys on the floor --You or Jack? :D Sorry I haven't wrote back as soon as usual, I still check on your site daily, but I had to ACTUALLY do something at work last week! It was ROUGH! Maybe I'll be back to doing nothing this week :O Luke's track season has ended, however it looks like he's going to be the alternate for the 4x800 - so no glory, just all the afternnon practices and sitting at the meets :S Take care and enjoy the sister & nephew - Diane, John, Luke and Emily (finally a college SENIOR!!)
